Police arrests OOU student for stabbing roommate
The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a student of the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Koya Ayodeji, for stabbing his roommate over an argument.
The Command disclosed this in a statement on Thursday.
It stated that the 25 year old suspect, who is a 5th-year Business Education student stabbed his roommate, Ayobami Ajayi, a 3rd year Mass Communication student, in the lower abdomen during the altercation over alleged noise the suspect claimed was emanating from his room.
The spokesperson for the state command, Omolola Odutola, stated that the suspect was under the influence of drugs and had been acting strangely before the argument ensued between him and the victim.
It was gathered that Ayodeji had asked Ajayi to reduce the noise emanating from his room, but his warning was said to have been ignored by the victim.
In a fit of anger, Ayodeji allegedly picked up a knife and stuck it in the victim’s lower abdomen, causing him severe injuries.
The command added that Ajayi was rushed to the Ogun State University Teaching Hospital in Sagamu, where doctors treating him had described his condition as stable.
