PDP Crisis: Exciting drama, let’s sit back and watch – Fayose

Former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose has called the ongoing crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) an “exciting drama.”

According to reports, Nigerians woke up to the news of a division within the party’s leadership, resulting in two factions. One faction, aligned with Acting National Chairman Umar Damagum, announced on Friday morning the suspension of National Publicity Secretary Debo Ologunagba and National Legal Adviser Kamaldeen Ajibade (SAN).

This development was confirmed in a statement by PDP National Director of Publicity, Chinwe Nnorom, released early on Friday.

Nnorom explained that the party has established a committee, led by Deputy National Chairman (South) Taofeek Arapaja, to investigate the concerns raised against the officers in accordance with the party’s Constitution.

But in a swift reaction, the faction led by Ajibade suspended Damagum, and National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu, over allegations of disloyalty to the party.

Ologunagba issued a statement on Friday declaring that both Damagum and Anyanwu would also be suspended from their positions.

Reacting to the crisis rocking his party, Fayose, in a post on his X handle, said Nigerians have to sit and see how the crisis plays out.

He wrote: “PDP: It is becoming such an exciting drama.
