Paul Onuachu matches 19-year record after scoring four goals for Genk against Charleroi
Super Eagles player, Paul Onuachu has achieved yet another feat after scoring all four goals for Genk in their 4-1 destruction of Sporting Charleroi.
Though the Nigerian footballer had a shaky start this season, blighted by injuries, he however helped his club seal their ninth successive win in all competitions on Friday night.
Onuachu scored his first goal from the penalty spot after just nine minute in the Belgian top-tier game.
The second goal came in the 35th minute after converting a Mike Tresor Ndayishimiye assist.
Daan Heymans scored for Charleroi in the 66th minute to make it 2-1.
The Nigerian footballer got his hattrick in the game in the 70th minute after converting a Joseph Paintsil pass.
His fourth came in stoppage time after good work by Rasmus Carstensen.
With the four goals he got in the match for Genk against Sporting Charleroi, Paul Onuachu has now matched a 19-year record set by Wesley Sonck against Excelsior.
He is now the leading scorer with 12 goals from the 13 matches he has played this season.
Genk has also extended their unbeaten run to 15 matches, 14 wins, and one draw.
On the table, Genk has also extended their lead over second-placed Royal Antwerp, who have a game in hand, to 10 points after 16 matches.
