Osimhen wins Serie A best striker award
Ahead of Napoli’s final match for the season, Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen has been named Serie A best striker for the 2022/23 League season.
The announcement was made on the official Twitter handle of the Italian top-flight division. Osimhen who inspired Napoli to its first Serie A title since the 1989/1990 season, won the Serie A best striker award ahead of Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez and AC Milan’s Rafael Leao.

Osimhen’s Georgian teammate, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia was named Player of the Season by Serie A on Friday, June 2.
The Georgia international had an impressive season, and also helped Napoli secure their first Scudetto in 33 years with his contribution of 12 goals and 10 assists in 33 games.
Having joined from Dinamo Batumi before the campaign, the 22-year-old follows last term’s winner Rafael Leao of AC Milan.
Serie A Chief Executive Luigi De Siervo said;
“…Kvaratskhelia`s impact on the league has been impressive. Congratulations to Napoli for having brought to Italy this talent, who from the very first matches showed off his repertoire of technique, dribbling, personality and creativity.”
Napoli’s Luciano Spalletti was Serie A Coach of the Season. Napoli’s Kim Min-Jae got the nod for best defender, beating out Giovanni Di Lorenzo and Milan full-back Theo Hernandez.
The best midfielder award goes to Inter man Barella, ahead of Adrien Rabiot of Juventus and Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
Lazio’s Ivan Provedel is Serie A’s best goalkeeper and he won the award ahead of Michele Di Gregorio of Monza and Bologna’s Lukasz Skorupski.
There is also a separate award for best Under-23 Italian player, and it went to Juventus youth star Fagioli, beating Empoli’s Tommaso Baldanzi and Atalanta defender Giorgio Scalvini.
The 2022-23 campaign will be wrapped up on Sunday, June 4, and there are still a few things to be decided, such as the final relegation spot and who goes into the Europa League or Conference League.
