Ondo Guber: PDP brands party defectors as ‘Political Harlots’
The People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Ondo state has boldly stated that the party’s success in the upcoming November 16 governorship election will not be affected by the defection of its leaders to the ruling All Progressive Congress.
It would be recalled that more than 5000 associates of the ex-governor Olusegun Mimiko and various party leaders from all 18 council areas of the party have switched allegiance to the ruling party.
They defectors were received into he party by governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and the state party chairman, Engineer Ade Adetimehin.
But the opposition party, in a statement by the Special Adviser, Media and Publicity of the party’s Campaign Organization, Ayo Fadaka, said that the defectors won’t be missed by the party.
Fadaka in the statement said that “We take due cognisance of the actions of some people led by Hon Joseph Akinlaja that have since joined the APC two months back.
“We restate that previous to their action, they were completely detached from developments within our Party, even one of them that vied for our gubernatorial ticket was sponsored by the APC which had earlier nominated him as NDDC Commissioner at the onset of the Tinubu administration.
Fadaka noted that “such a character cannot be considered as an asset to the Party.
“We note conclusively that these people are mere rolling stones who gather no moss as they relocate from one Party to another during every election cycle.
“They have never been politically stable, reason we are not missing them. They will add nothing to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and his Party, rather they will become unlucky, and we congratulate him and APC on this account.
“To serious minded people remaining in APC, we urge them to take cognizance that a large chunk of their colleagues responsible for APC’s success in the past have since teamed up with us, so they must waste no further time to join the PDP in our quest to reposition our State for development and productivity.”
