Onana to undergo medical as new Aston Villa player after £50m deal reached

Aston Villa are close to finalizing a £50 million deal for Everton midfielder Amadou Onana, with medical set.

The Belgian international, who joined Everton from Lille in 2022, has caught the eye with his performances at Goodison Park and at Euro 2024, where he featured in four matches for Belgium.

Despite interest from Arsenal and Chelsea, Villa has met Everton’s valuation.

Onana is expected to undergo a medical upon his return from holiday after the Euros.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the deal, stating, “Amadou Onana will undergo medical as new Aston Villa player as soon as he returns from holiday.

“The two clubs are preparing documents for a deal worth £50m plus add-ons and a sell-on clause for the midfielder,” he added.
