Olympique Marseille have officially announced an agreement with Italian coach and former Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi.
The club confirmed the news on Monday evening, ending speculation about De Zerbi’s future.
The delay in the announcement was due to negotiations over the release clause in De Zerbi’s contract with Brighton.
The Ligue 1 club are now working to finalize the details.
“Olympique de Marseille have announced that it has reached an agreement in principle with Roberto De Zerbi,” the club statement read in part.
“The club is currently working with all parties involved to formalize the arrival of the Italian coach and his staff on the OM bench, and to prepare for his arrival in Marseille in the coming days.”
De Zerbi is set to sign a three-year contract with Marseille.
