Olivier Giroud hints quitting international duty after Euro 2024 tournament
France all-time record-goalscorer Olivier Giroud, has hinted that Euro 2024 might be his last appearance in international football.
With 57 goals in 131 appearances for the French national team, Giroud has left a strong footprint on his country’s football history.
Despite having just 16 caps shy of Hugo Lloris’s record for the most appearances for France, Giroud’s future in the national team remains uncertain.
With a potential move from AC Milan to Los Angeles FC in the MLS this summer, Giroud’s international career could be drawing to a close.
In a recent interview where he was quizzed about the possibility of Euro 2024 being his last for France, the former Chelsea and Arsenal man said, “It could be.
“Nothing is decided. As I’ve said, I’m closer to the end than the start. You have to make the most of every moment.”
While Giroud has enjoyed success with France, including winning the 2018 World Cup, he has yet to claim the European Championship title, and dreams France win it this time.
