Official: Marcus Rashford joins Aston Villa on loan from Manchester United
Marcus Rashford has completed a loan move to Aston Villa from Manchester United until the end of the 2024/25 season.
The deal includes an option for Villa to make the transfer permanent, with the club covering a significant portion of Rashford’s wages and agreeing to performance-related bonuses.
If the move isn’t made permanent, Rashford will return to United in the summer.
The 27-year-old forward expressed his excitement about the switch, writing on Instagram:
“I was lucky to have a few clubs approach me, but Aston Villa was an easy decision.
“I really admire the way that Villa have been playing this season, and the manager’s ambitions.
“I just want to play football and am excited to get started.”
Rashford’s United future had been in doubt after falling out of favour under Ruben Amorim, who questioned his commitment in training.
The forward had not played for United since their Europa League clash against Viktoria Plzen on December 12.
Villa moved for Rashford after selling Jhon Durán to Al Nassr, and Unai Emery now has an experienced attacker to boost his side’s ambitions in both the Premier League and Champions League.
Rashford, who graduated from United’s academy, has 138 goals in 426 appearances for the club, winning the Europa League, two FA Cups, and two Carabao Cups.
However, his form has dipped since scoring 30 goals in 2022-23, managing just seven goals this season.
