Obi Cubana released after spending 3 nights in EFCC custody, makes debut appearance
Billionaire businessman, Obi Iyiegbu, better known as Obi Cubana has finally been released from the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) after spending three(3) nights of acute questioning.
Recall that the Anambra-born entrepreneur was arrested on Monday, 1st November over alleged money laundering and tax fraud. The following day, 2nd November, news about his release made the rounds on social media, but a few hours later the anti-graft agency stated that he’s still in their custody.
They revealed that the billionaire hasn’t been granted bail due to his inability to meet up with his bail conditions.
However, according to reports, Obi Cubana was released on the evening of 4th November.
It is also presumed that the socialite will be summoned in future to defend himself in court over issues bordering on currency abuse, tax fraud and money laundering.
