‘Not for sale’ – Leicester boss Van Nistelrooy shuts down Ndidi exit rumours

Leicester City manager Ruud van Nistelrooy has categorically ruled out any possibility of Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi leaving the club during the January transfer window.

Ndidi, who has attracted interest from Ligue 1 side AS Monaco and La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid, remains a key figure in Leicester’s squad, according to Van Nistelrooy.

Speaking to the BBC, Van Nistelrooy stated, “No, of course not. Wilfred is a key player and person in the squad and in the club. I’m glad he is nearly there to help the team again.”

The Dutch manager emphasized Ndidi’s importance as the Foxes battle to improve their current form.

“We know how much we’ve missed him, and we know we need him. Wilf is key in the coming months, a key part of this team that can get us out of this situation.”

Ndidi, who signed a new three-year contract with Leicester City last summer, has made 15 league appearances this season, providing three assists.

His return from injury is expected to significantly bolster the team’s chances of climbing the table.
