No individual decision yet – Portugal’s coach on Ronaldo quitting international football after EURO exit
Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal are out of the Euro 2024 tournament, after falling to France on penalties, but the star is yet to decide his future.
The Friday encounter ended goalless draw despite extra time play, leading to a tense penalty shoot-out that ended 5-4 in favour of France.
Since the defeat, there have been wide spread speculation that it might be Ronaldo’s last international outing with Portugal.
When asked about the Al Nassr star’s future with the national team, coach Roberto Martinez maintained there is no individual decision for any player yet.
“We are suffering as a team, there’s no individual decision at this point,” said Martinez during a post-match press conference.
In another news, Pepe who was visibly tearing after the game has played his last match ever at the Euros.
He became the oldest player to appear in a knockout stage match in major tournaments at 41 years old.
