Nigerian woman ends it all over failed marriage in Nassarawa
In a tragic incident, a Nigerian woman and mother of two, Margaret Oyibo Atayi ended her life due to her failed marriage in Nassarawa State.
The father and a sibling of the Benue girl confirmed that she committed suicide due to depression from her marriage after she was found dead on Monday, May 20th.
Margaret, an Idoma girl from Ugbokolo, Okpokwu LGA in Benue State, was last seen around City College of Education, Abacha Road, Mararaba in Abuja, on Friday, May 17, at around three in the morning, according to the DAILY POST.
Her father, Mr. Atayi, confirmed her death, “Margaret was a mother of two children. She has been in depression for some time now due to mistreatment by her husband. She went out on that fateful Friday morning by 3am without the knowledge of anybody. Her body was discovered in the late hours of Monday, and every available evidence confirmed that she committed suicide.”
Her sister Stella Ameh posted on Facebook to announce her death and to thank everyone who donated supplies to help find her while she was missing.
In her words, “Sunset at dawn [sic]. I want to use this medium to thank everyone for their enormous help, time, and resources put together in finding our sister Margret. Yes, she was found but has gone to find rest with her maker. God bless you all.”
According to further reports, Margaret was blissfully married to her husband from Orokam, Ogbadibo LGA in Benue State after the demise of his first wife. The couple lived overseas with their two children until her husband subsequently moved her back to Nigeria and abandoned her and their two children.
