Nigerian woman decorated as General in United States Army
A Nigerian woman, Amanda Azubuike, has been made a Brigadier General of the United States Army.
Azubuike who was born in London, UK, entered the US Army in 1994 and was later commissioned as an aviator after graduating from the Army Aviation Officer Basic Course.
Azubuike previously held the position of Chief of Staff/Senior Military Advisor at the Office of the Secretary of Defense and is currently a Deputy Commanding Officer at the US Army Cadet Command.
Aside her military qualifications, Gen. Amanda Azubuike holds a B.Sc degree in Mass Communication/Media Studies from the University of Central Arkansas, an M.Sc of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the United States Army War College, and a Master of Professional Studies, Public Relations/Corporate Communications from Georgetown University.
