Nigerian activist writes to Embassies to prevent Mohbad’s wife, Omowunmi and Liam from leaving the country
Human rights activist, Akinola Adelabu-Soul, writes to 13 embassies in Nigeria to ensure that Omowunmi and Liam don’t leave the country pending investigation into Mohbad’s death.
He titled the letter “Urgent Request to Monitor and Prevent Departure of Mohbad’s Wife and Child”.
The activist claims the circumstances surrounding the demise of the artist remain sketchy, and investigations indict a certain nurse in his murder.
According to him, the case is a very sensitive one and the disappearance of Omowunmi and Liam would destabilize it.
His letter was addressed to the following embassies in Nigeria; United States of America, Brazil, France, Italy, Russia, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Germany, the Republic of Cyprus, Greenland, Canada, the Republic of Korea, and China.
Akinola copied the Nigerian Immigration Service as well as the Lagos State Police Command headquarters.
Omowunmi’s lawyer, Taiwo Olawanle stated that the activist was in no position to write the letter whilst adding that there were other channels he could have addressed his concerns to.
He clarified that Omowunmi had no intentions to leave the country as she remains committed to finding justice for her husband and reaching the root of the matter.
