Nekede Polytechnic suspends staff caught on video assaulting student

A staff member of the Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Imo State, has been suspended by the institution following a viral video showing him assaulting a student.

The announcement was made in a post on X, formerly Twitter, where the school confirmed the suspension.

A letter detailing the decision was also circulated online. It reads in part:

“Suspension from Duty – Mr. Okoroafor Ifeanyichukwu.”

“You are hereby suspended from duty as a facilitator in the Technical and Entrepreneurship Development Centre pending the outcome of an investigation into the incident that occurred on March 13, 2025, at the site of your entrepreneurship training.”

The staff‘s suspension follows the emergence of a video showing the staff member slapping and shoving the student to the ground.

As the footage gained traction online, concerned individuals took to the comment section to express their thoughts on the incident.
