Napoli give reason Osimhen cannot join Galatasaray on permanent deal
Napoli have dismissed any possibility of Galatasaray securing Victor Osimhen on a permanent transfer.
The club cite the Turkish club’s inability to meet his €75 million buyout clause.
The decision was confirmed by Napoli’s sporting director, Giovanni Manna, who indicated that while several clubs are interested in Osimhen and willing to pay the clause, Galatasaray currently lacks the financial means.
“Our door is closed to negotiations. Galatasaray does not have the budget to pay this amount at this moment,” Manna stated, as quoted by Webaslan.
Osimhen, 25, joined the Turkish Super Lig champions on a season-long loan in September and has since excelled under manager Okan Buruk.
The Nigerian forward has made an immediate impact, tallying eight goals and four assists in just nine appearances across all competitions.
Galatasaray’s interest in extending Osimhen’s stay, however, appears to have reached an impasse, given the high buyout fee.
Napoli are more committed to transferring him to a club that can meet their financial expectations.
