Napoli contemplate sacking manager, Mazzarri before Barcelona UCL clash

Speculations mount over the future of Napoli’s boss, Walter Mazzarri, with reports suggesting his sack before Barcelona’s Champions League match.

Transfer expert Matteo Moretto has indicated ongoing talks between Napoli and Slovakia’s national team coach, Francesco Calzona, hinting at a possible managerial change.

The uncertainty around Mazzarri’s position intensified following Napoli’s recent 1-1 draw against Genoa.

While some reports suggest Mazzarri will be given a final opportunity against Barcelona, Moretto believes there’s a chance he could be relieved of his duties even before the crucial European fixture.

Francesco Calzona, the current coach of Slovakia’s national team, is reportedly being considered as a replacement.

Calzona has previous experience at Napoli, having served as an assistant to Maurizio Sarri and Luciano Spalletti.

It is suggested that Calzona would continue his role with the Slovakian national team for the remainder of the season, should he join Napoli.
