“My husband’s decision to venture into politics made me afraid” – Adesua Etomi-Wellington
Adesua Etomi, a popular Nigerian actress, has revealed that she was initially terrified when her husband, Bankole Wellington, also known as Banky W, expressed his desire to enter politics.
In a recent interview with Hip TV, Adesua admitted that she was immediately concerned and frightened by Banky’s declaration.
However, she later chose to support him because she believes that purpose is more important than fear.
It can be recalled that on November 11, 2018, Banky announced his intention to run for the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency seat on the platform of the Modern Democratic Party.
He ran for the same seat in the 2023 elections under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), but unfortunately lost to the Labour Party (LP) candidate, Attah Thaddeus.
Adesua expressed her initial worries and disturbances about Banky’s decision to go into politics. However, she emphasized that she believes in the importance of fulfilling one’s purpose and that he has her full support.
She said;
“When Banky said that he wanted to go into politics, I was a little bit worried and disturbed about it.
But I also believe that purpose is more important than fear. And I want to see him fulfil purpose. So, he has my support 100 per cent.”
