AS Roma coach, Jose Mourinho has again taken a swipe at British referee Anthony Taylor who presided over his team’s Europa League final defeat to Sevilla.

The Portuguese tactician said;

“Winning the Europa league with Manchester United was a normal feeling for me. Roma-Sevilla… if I say what I think I will get banned for ten games.

“Roma-Feyenoord [In the Europa Conference League] but I I could also have indicated the match against Leicester. I’ve never cried on the pitch after a loss. Sometimes, I cry after a win and these two games are historic for Roma.”

The controversial match led to Taylor being harassed by Roma fans at the airport as he returned home after the final.

During the final which Sevilla won on penalties, the English referee gave out 13 yellow cards. The defeat stopped Mourinho from becoming the first manager to win the Europa League with three different clubs.

Mourinho was also handed a four-match ban due to his behaviour towards Anthony Taylor after the Europa League final. He frequently aimed at referee Anthony Taylor and even confronted the Englishman in the stadium car park after Roma’s defeat to Sevilla.

Mourinho was recorded confronting the referee in the car park of the Puskas Arena, calling him a “f*cking disgrace”.

He was charged with using insulting or abusive language, a charge he was found guilty of. This pushed him into pulling out his membership of UEFA football board which is the brainchild of the body’s chief of football Zvonimir Boban and former referee Roberto Rosetti.
