On Wednesday, September 20, the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Adebo Ogundoyin, stood in solidarity with hundreds of passionate youths in Ibadan as they took to the streets to demand justice for the late singer Mohbad.
The peaceful rally, aptly named “Justice for Mohbad,” commenced from Mokola and traversed through Sango, Bodija, concluding at the Oyo State Secretariat in Ibadan.
The youth, donning black T-shirts and brandishing placards bearing calls for justice for Mohbad, passionately voiced their demands while chanting solidarity songs.
Their united front garnered support from notable figures, including Speaker Adebo Ogundoyin and the State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Wasilat Adefemi, both of whom walked alongside the determined protesters during the entirety of the rally.
Speaker Ogundoyin, addressing the protesters at various junctures along the route, praised the youth for their unwavering commitment to justice.
He emphasized that all well-meaning Nigerians should add their voices to the call for justice for Mohbad.
Ogundoyin, visibly moved by the tragic loss, described the late Mohbad as a gifted and highly motivated young artist, The Sun Newspaper report added.
He said;
“It is unfortunate that Ilerioluwa Imole died in mysterious circumstances. The investigation team set up by the Nigeria Police Force must be thorough in their job. Everyone connected with the death of the young man must be questioned and investigated, and the cause of his death must be unraveled.”
