Mohamed Salah reportedly offers himself to Barcelona

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has reportedly offered himself to Barcelona ahead of the summer transfer window, according to Sport.

The 32-year-old Egyptian, whose contract with Liverpool expires at the end of the season, has yet to agree to a new deal with the Premier League club.

Barcelona Director of Football Deco reportedly held talks with Salah’s representatives in December, but negotiations did not progress.

Barcelona’s financial situation makes a move difficult, as Salah currently earns €18 million per season, while the Saudi Pro League could offer him a significantly higher salary potentially around €50 million per year.

Reports have also linked Salah with Al-Hilal, with speculation that a deal is already in place.

Even if Barcelona could afford the transfer, Salah’s preferred right-wing position clashes with the emergence of Lamine Yamal, raising questions about his fit in Hansi Flick’s system.

Football Espana reports that the Catalan club may only consider him if he is willing to take a significant pay cut.
