Michael Olise agrees to join Bayern Munich as Chelsea withdraw from £60M deal

Michael Olise is expected to join Bayern Munich after Chelsea pulled out of the race to sign the French international.

The Crystal Palace winger, who has a £60 million release clause, had been in negotiations with Chelsea, but the financial demands proved too high for the London club.

Chelsea’s decision to withdraw from the deal comes as they shift focus towards rewarding existing players and seeking alternative attacking options.

The club are reportedly in discussions with Aston Villa for Colombian striker Jhon Duran, as well as Nico Williams from Athletic Club.

Olise, 22, had also attracted interest from Manchester United, but they too were hesitant to meet the £60 million asking price.

His impressive performance at Crystal Palace, where he scored ten goals in the 2023/24 season, has made him a sorted after player.

Bayern Munich, seizing the opportunity, are now expected to finalize the deal for Olise, who previously spent time in Chelsea’s academy before moving to Reading, where he made his professional debut.
