“Men are afraid to date me; they think I’m transgender” – Bearded woman cries out
A bearded Tanzanian woman identified as Elsie, has opened up on her life-long journey with Hirsutism, a rare condition causing excessive facial hair growth.
The woman, who has been living with this condition since childhood, opens up on the challenges and hardships she has faced due to societal misunderstandings and misconceptions.
The mother of one revealed that she often finds herself at the center of misplaced judgments, with people mistaking her for a transgender woman.
Elsie disclosed that men, in particular, are hesitant to date her, fearing the stigma associated with her condition.
In the interview, Elsie explained that men frequently approach her friends, questioning whether she is a real woman or transgender.
Unfortunately, this misunderstanding leads to a loss of interest from potential partners once they learn about her facial hair situation.
“I accepted myself because it’s natural. I was given by God. But there are a lot of challenges that I do face. Some people think I am transgender, but I would like to clarify that I am a woman. I have been blessed with one daughter, and I am just okay. Many people wonder when they see me because I look different, but I am just like any other woman. Men fear me, and they go around asking my friends if I am a real woman or transgender,” Elsie said during the interview.
