Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappé, sets a new record winning his fifth consecutive UNFP Ligue 1 Player of the Season award.
The award ceremony, held on Monday night at Paris’ Pavillon d’Armenonville, recognized France’s top football talents for the just concluded season.
Mbappé’s exceptional performance this season, bagging 27 goals, was instrumental in PSG’s latest title win.
The award comes as the league’s top goal scorer, Mbappe is widely expected to move to Real Madrid as a free agent this summer.
The UNFP Awards also celebrated other notable achievements in Ligue 1.
Stade Brestois’ remarkable season was acknowledged with their manager Eric Roy named Manager of the Year.
PSG’s Gianluigi Donnarumma was honored as Goalkeeper of the Year, beating competition from Nice’s Marcin Bulka and Lille’s Lucas Chevalier.
Warren Zaïre-Emery, PSG’s teenage sensation, was also voted Young Player of the Year and is anticipated to be included in Didier Deschamps’ Euro 2024 squad for France.
In the Best French Player Abroad category, Atlético de Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann won for the second time since 2016, outshining Arsenal’s William Saliba and Real Madrid’s Aurélien Tchouaméni.
