Maresca praises Cucurella, insists on team spirit ahead of Brighton clash
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has emphasized the importance of unity within his squad, ahead of Brighton clash.
Maresca urges all his players whether selected or not to attend matches in a bid to foster team spirit.
The Italian coach call for solidarity follows the sight of several non-playing stars in their 5-0 win over Barrow on Tuesday.
Reece James, Cole Palmer, Noni Madueke and Moises Caicedo, turned up to support their teammates during the Carabao Cup victory.
“The ones in the squad have to be there, and the ones not in the squad have to be there too,”
“If my teammate is playing, I need to support him before and after the game. If we want to create something, these small things matter,” Maresca said.
Maresca also praised Marc Cucurella, who has struggled to find his best form since his big-money move from Brighton.
He described the Spaniard as “very intelligent,” adding “Marc understands the tactical aspects quickly. He’s versatile, playing different roles, and his intelligence is clear on the pitch.”
Chelsea’s recent uptick in form has seen them rise to fifth in the Premier League, just three points from the top.
