Manchetser United takeover: Ratcliffe completes 27.7% club acquisition
Sir Jim Ratcliffe has completed his £1.3 billion takeover of a 27.7% stake in the Glazer family’s Manchester United.
The English business mogul has also promised to bring the club back to the summit of English and global football.
The Premier League and FA approved the deal, marking the beginning of a new era for the club.
Ratcliffe expressed his honour and the immense responsibility that comes with co-ownership of Manchester United.
He emphasized that this is just the start of their journey to revitalize the club, targeting success in English, European, and world football, alongside providing world-class facilities for fans.
The SunSport reports that the Executive Co-Chairman Joel Glazer welcomed Ratcliffe, pointing at the bright future ahead for Manchester United with Ratcliffe’s involvement.
Glazer expressed readiness to work closely with Ratcliffe and INEOS Sport to shape the club’s future.
Ratcliffe’s ownership stake will increase to 27.7% initially through a capital investment of $200 million, with a further increase to 28.9% by December 31st following an additional $100 million investment.
