Manchester United worried over new signing Leny Yoro’s injury
Manchester United are worried and anxiously awaiting the assessment of new signing Leny Yoro’s ankle injury.
Yoro sustained the injury during a pre-season friendly against Arsenal.
Yoro, who joined from Lille for £52 million, was forced off in the first half of United’s 2-1 defeat at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.
This was only his second start for the club. The 18-year-old has been unable to train since the incident and was seen on crutches with a protective boot on his left foot on Tuesday.
ESPN reports that the club’s medical staff are still evaluating the extent of Yoro’s injury.
Manager Erik ten Hag is expected to address the issue at a press conference on Thursday. As a result, Yoro will miss the upcoming friendly against Real Betis in San Diego on Wednesday.
In addition to Yoro’s injury, United are also monitoring the fitness of striker Rasmus Højlund, who suffered a suspected hamstring injury and was substituted in the first half during the Arsenal game.
