Manchester United in talks with PSG over Manuel Ugarte

Paris Saint-Germain star Manuel Ugarte has emerged a prime target for Manchester United to bolster their squad.

The Old Trafford side are reportedly in talks with PSG over a potential deal for the defensive midfielder.

The Red Devils are keen to strengthen their midfield, anticipating the probable departures of Casemiro and Sofyan Amrabat this summer.

Ugarte has been tipped as a formidable option to team up with Kobbie Mainoo and Bruno Fernandes in United’s midfield trio next season.

PSG have already rejected an initial bid from United for the Uruguayan international, demanding over £50 million.

Despite the setback, Ugarte is reportedly eager to move to the Premier League and would “love” to play for Manchester United, which could facilitate negotiations.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the “really concrete interest” from United, adding that PSG are open to selling Ugarte after just one season.

Romano stated on YouTube, “PSG are prepared to sell the player. They are absolutely not closing the door to the possibility of Ugarte leaving the club.

“Ugarte would be keen on a move to Man United even without Champions League football. Ugarte is a strong candidate for Man United in the midfield,” he added.

The 22-year-old midfielder has been praised for his unique combination of technical ability and aggressive play.
