Manchester United battle Chelsea for Ronald Araujo’s signature

Manchester United and Chelsea are reportedly keeping a close watch on Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo.

Araujo, who is currently negotiating a possible contract extension at Barcelona has caught the eye of big clubs across Europe.

The player, whose current deal runs until 2026, is in the process of renegotiating terms, similar to key players Pedri and Gavi.

While negotiations for Araujo’s contract are progressing well, there remains the possibility of a breakdown.

Should the talks stall, CaughtOffside reports that Manchester United and Chelsea are prepared to swoop in for the Uruguayan center-back.

With a year remaining on his deal by next summer, his market value would significantly drop, making him a more affordable target.
