Manchester United appoint Ruben Amorim as new head coach
Manchester United have officially named Ruben Amorim as the club’s new head coach, following the recent departure of Erik ten Hag.
The Portuguese manager, 39, takes over on a contract lasting until June 2027, with an option for an additional year.
He is set to start on Monday, November 11, after completing his obligations with his current club, Sporting CP, from whom United paid a £8.3 million release clause.
United described Amorim as “one of the most exciting and highly rated young coaches in European football.”
The Red Devils notes his achievements, including winning two Primeira Liga titles with Sporting CP.
Until his arrival, club legend Ruud van Nistelrooy will continue as interim manager.
