Man vows to jump off mast if fuel subsidy is not returned, drops list of demands
An unidentified man climbs a broadcast mast in protest of the hardship in Nigeria while calling on the Nigerian Government to reinstate subsidy on fuel.
The incident is reported to be happening live at Katampe Hill in Abuja, with the man threatening to jump unless his demands for the restoration of fuel subsidies and an end to insecurity are met.
It is worth noting that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu removed subsidies on fuel during his inauguration speech, stating that it was a waste of resources.
In a letter he left behind by the man protesting the reinstatement of fuel subsidy, he called on Nigerians to join the protest.
His letter partly reads;
“IT’S LONG ENOUGH!!!
– Long enough for government to standby and do nothing while Boko haram, Bandits and Kidnappers are killing people in the country everyday.
– Long enough for Citizeus to continue suffering from Hunger.
– Long enough for inflation rate to continue rising rapidly.
– Long enough for number of out it school chitren to continue increasing.
– Long enough for me to keep quit.”
Demands of man protesting subsidy return on mast in Abuja
- On behalf of fellow Nigerians I demand the following ( Government should return fuel subsidy.
- Government should declare a state of emergency in Zamfara, Sokoto, Kebbi, Katsina, Kaduna, Niger and Borno On insecurity matters and take immediate action to clear these terrorism in the above listed stakes and the county at large.
- Government Should open borders for food importation in order to eradicate food shortage in the country.
- Government should immediately respond to the problem of out of school children which is increasing rapidly.
- These are the major Nigerians’ problems and I’m ready to sacrifice my life for the solution to them.
