Man United set to hand 22-year-old goalkeeper Dermot Mee his debut against Leicester
Manchester United could turn to under-21 goalkeeper Dermot Mee for their clash against Leicester City, with Andre Onana facing a late fitness test.
Mee, 22, has yet to make a senior appearance for United and last played first-team football in 2022 while on loan at National League side Altrincham.
He has been on the bench for United’s last three matches due to injuries to backup goalkeepers Altay Bayindir and Tom Heaton.
Onana, 28, will travel with the squad but is not expected to be risked, potentially putting his participation with Cameroon in doubt for the upcoming international break.
If ruled out, it will be the first Premier League game he has missed since joining United in July 2023.
Mee has made seven appearances for United’s under-21s this season, including a standout performance in the EFL Trophy where he saved a penalty against Doncaster Rovers.
United, currently 15th in the league, are looking to build on their 4-1 Europa League win over Real Sociedad and a three-game unbeaten league run.
Leicester, sitting 19th, have lost 12 of their last 13 league matches and are now nine points from safety.
This will be the fourth meeting between the sides this season, with United winning the previous three.
