Man United confirm Leny Yoro out for three months after surgery

Manchester United have announced that defender Leny Yoro will be sidelined for approximately three months following successful surgery on a foot injury.

The 18-year-old suffered the injury during a pre-season friendly against Arsenal in Los Angeles.

He was substituted early in the match along with forward Rasmus Højlund, who faces six weeks out with a hamstring injury.

Reports earlier this month indicated that Yoro had sustained a fractured metatarsal, leading to a surgical intervention.

This setback is a major blow to manager Erik ten Hag, who attributed injuries to United’s disappointing campaign last season, which saw them finish eighth in the Premier League.

The injury has intensified United’s efforts to strengthen their defense. Sources suggest that United had already been looking to bolster their defensive options before Yoro’s injury, and their search is expected to increase.

Meanwhile, the club has identified Bayern Munich’s Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui, as well as Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite as potential targets.
