Man on the run after shooting neighbour to death over noise making in Brooklyn US
Jason Pass, 47, is on the run after shooting and killing a father and his stepson in a Brooklyn apartment corridor following a fight over noise.
American law enforcement officers are presently conducting a manhunt for the man identified as Jason Pass after he fled from the crime scene.
The horrifying moment the irate neighbor pulled out a gun and shot and killed the victims, identified as Bladimy Mathurin, 47, and his stepson Chinwai Mode, 27, was caught on camera by a security camera in the hallway.
In the video, Pass, who resides on the third floor of 1418 Brooklyn Avenue, confronts his next-door neighbours.
The security footage seems to show Mathurin holding a pair of scissors to Pass’s neck at one point while his wife tries to pull him away.
Shortly after, Pass repeatedly gave the dead the finger before boarding the lift and leaving the scene in a composed manner.
According to the NYPD, Pass has reported his upstairs neighbours to 311 six times since March 2022 because of what sounded like loud floor hammering.
“Noise complaints are basically people walking. The apartment upstairs did not have carpeting, so people walking back and forth generated these calls,” Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny said.
Numerous complaints from both flats were received, according to the building’s management, and mediation was promised but never completed.
Pass reportedly banged on the ceiling, and her husband responded by banging on the floor, according to the victim’s mother and wife. Pass kicked their door a few moments later, provoking her and her husband to step outside and face him.
