Man locks up wife’s brother, to arrest father after she requests more money despite receiving ₦300k, ₦2.3m
A Nigerian man has reportedly arrested his wife’s brother and vowed to take further action against his father-in-law after his wife challenged him over financial support.
Despite having given her ₦300,000 for their son’s upkeep and ₦2.3 million to open a business, the wife allegedly demanded more money, prompting the man to take drastic measures.
According to a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), the man shared the details of the incident, explaining that his wife confronted him about additional financial needs.
He reminded her of the ₦300,000 he had sent for their son’s feeding, which he claimed covered three months of expenses. He also pointed out that he had recently given her ₦2.3 million to open a shop.
The man quoted himself saying, “Yesterday morning my ex-wife came to my house and asked me to give her money for my son’s upkeep. I said to her, ‘I sent you ₦300,000 on December 14, including the clothes I bought for him, and that ₦300,000 is for three months of feeding.”
When the wife continued to demand more money, the man said she became abusive, leading him to slap her.
He added, “She started acting drama and started insulting me. I had to slap her twice and push her out of the compound.”
This prompted her brother to intervene, but the man called the police and had him arrested.
He stated, “This morning by 7:19 am, his brother came over to fight me. I called the police to pick him up, and he will stay there for three weeks.”
He also warned that if his wife or her father misbehave, they too would face similar consequences, saying, “If my son’s mother misbehaves, I will lock her up for one week, including her father too.”
The man concluded his post by warning other men, claiming, “Men need to sit up because most girls/women in Nigeria are evil, wicked, and willing to destroy you.”
