Man embittered by entitled friend who demanded more money from him

UK based Nigerian man enraged by friend who rejected his N50k offer as compensation for missing his wedding.

He took to his Twitter account, @olajideobe, to lament the audacity and entitlement of his friend.

Since his friend was getting married and he could not be in attendance, he decided to send him N50k instead.

As soon as he requested for the account number to send the money, the friend questioned if that was the only amount he would give him as his wedding gift.

He admitted that the exchange left him confused at first but he decided to take back his offer and use the money for a more noble cause.

His tweet reads;

“The audacity keeps getting worse.

A certain friend is getting married soon. So I asked him to give me his bank details so I can send him ₦50,000 to get a wedding gift since I will unfortunately not be able to attend his wedding.

While we were still talking, baba said so na £25 you go give me for wedding gift. I was confused and perplexed at the same time. He has already converted the 50k to GBP and felt he deserves more than the pound equivalent. I don’t have energy for back and forth, I just told him make he no vex. I’m surely not sending him any dime again, I’ll put my 50k to a more noble cause.

Sometimes, some people are always too quick to forget that no one owes them anything in reality; and one choosing to give is purely out of love and kindness of heart.”
