A Nigerian man, who was allegedly arrested by the police without cause on his way back from watching the Chelsea vs. Man City Champions League final on May 29, 2021, has regained his freedom after spending four years behind bars.
This information was shared in a post on the popular social media platform X (formerly Twitter) by a user who confirmed the story, stating, “I kid you not.”
The user explained that the man, who did nothing to warrant his arrest, was detained without any explanation. “Like eh. No explanation, nothing, nothing.”
In his post, the user detailed the incident: “Someone left his house to go and watch Chelsea vs Man City Champion league final and was arrested on his way home and imprisoned. Today is the day he came home. Think about it. If you see a chance to leave this country, don’t even hesitate oh.”
