Lookman records 50th goal in 109 appearances for Atalanta against Juventus

Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman hit a major career milestone on Sunday night, scoring his 50th goal for Atalanta in a commanding 4-0 win over Juventus at the Allianz Stadium.
Lookman sealed the rout with Atalanta’s fourth goal after strikes from Mateo Retegui, Marten de Roon and Davide Zappacosta had already put the visitors in control.
Since joining Atalanta in 2022, Lookman has been a key figure, contributing 50 goals and 22 assists in 109 appearances.
This season alone, he has delivered 18 goals and seven assists in 31 matches, playing a vital role in Atalanta’s title challenge.
The Nigerian international’s resurgence comes after a difficult stint at RB Leipzig, where he struggled for game time and was loaned out to Fulham and Leicester City.
However, his move to Bergamo revitalized his career, culminating in a historic UEFA Europa League triumph, where he netted a hat-trick in the final against Bayer Leverkusen.
Atalanta’s latest victory lifts them to third in Serie A, just three points behind leaders Inter Milan.
Lookman’s form has also earned him a place in Nigeria’s provisional squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe, with Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle counting on his firepower to boost Nigeria’s chances.
