These protests, driven by widespread frustration with the rising cost of living and economic conditions, have seen participation from various cities across Nigeria.

Below are live updates on the unfolding events across Nigeria:

11:48 AM – Ibadan, Oyo State: Youths from the Oyo State Coalition Against Hardship have gathered in Ibadan. Led by Comrade Akeem Lawal, known as ‘Aluta,’ the protest began at 8:45 am from Iwo Road.

The demonstration has been peaceful so far.

11:38 AM – Kaduna State: Protesters in Kaduna have joined the ‘End Bad Governance’ movement, with demonstrators marching through Tudun Wada steeet.

11:29 AM – Abuja: Human rights lawyer and activist Deji Adeyanju clashed with the FCT Police Commissioner, Benneth Igweh, over a high court order restricting protests to the National Stadium.

Adeyanju argued that the order lacks clarity on whether gatherings are permitted inside or outside the stadium.

10:17 AM – Rivers State: In Port Harcourt, Rivers state capital, ‘End Bad Governance’ protesters have taken to the streets.

AIT footage shows demonstrators singing the old national anthem, dismissing the new one.

9:44 AM – Kano State: Protesters have assembled in Kano, with footage shared by Enough is Enough Nigeria (EiE) showing large crowds taking to the streets.

8:33 AM – Lagos State: Protesters have assembled in Ikeja, chanting songs about hunger.

Pro-government supporters also have assembled in Alausa, Ikeja, preaching against violent protests.

7:59 AM – Abuja: Social media posts, including one by journalist Abiodun Sanusi, indicate that protesters in Abuja will converge at Eagle Square.

Abiodun wrote on X

“As Nigerians unite for accountability, transparency, an end to the pervasive issues of bad governance plaguing our nation, Nigeria under President Bola Tinubu’s government, join us at the Eagle Square in Abuja to #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria.”
