Leverkusen escape Stuttgart scare with die-minute equalizer to extend unbeaten run

Bayer Leverkusen continued their remarkable unbeaten streak to 46 games with a stunning late comeback against Stuttgart at the BayArena.

Despite the celebratory atmosphere as Bundesliga champions for the first time in their history, Leverkusen faced a tough challenge from Stuttgart.

The visitors dominated the early stages of the game, netting twice to scare Xabi Alonso’s men.

Chris Führich opened scoring for Stuttgart just minutes into the second half, followed by Denis Undav’s brilliant strike to put Leverkusen two goals down for the first time this season.

However, Leverkusen pulled one back four minutes after Undav’s goal, courtesy of Amine Adli’s placed effort into the corner of the net.

Despite Stuttgart holding tight their defense line and Alexander Nübel’s outstanding double save, Leverkusen pressed on for an equalizer.

In the final minute of stoppage time, Robert Andrich smashed home a chaotic set piece to level the score at 2-2.

The draw extends Leverkusen’s unbeaten run to 46 games, the first in the club’s history.
