Leicester 0-2 Man City: Haaland scores as City end winless run
Manchester City picked their first victory in seven matches with a 2-0 win over Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Sunday.
Savinho broke the deadlock, scoring in the 21st minute, which was his first goal for City after following up on a Phil Foden shot that was parried by Leicester goalkeeper Jakub Stolarczyk.
Erling Haaland doubled City’s advantage in the second half, with Savinho providing the assist through a cross.
The goal marked Haaland’s 15th Premier League strike of the season and ended his personal scoring drought.
Leicester had opportunities to level the match, with Jamie Vardy missing two chances, including a shot following a defensive error by Josko Gvardiol.
Facundo Buonanotte also struck the post in the second half as the Foxes struggled to capitalize on their chances.
The win lifts City to fifth place in the Premier League standings, while Leicester remain in the relegation zone despite an improved performance.
