Landlady locks tenant’s room over ₦1500 NEPA bill 4 days after she moved in (Video)
A Nigerian lady has issued a plea for assistance after her landlady locked her room due to an unpaid 1,500 NEPA bill, merely days after she moved into the apartment.
In a recently uploaded video, the young lady approaches her landlady with a greeting as she draws closer.
However, the landlady appears displeased by the greeting.
Undeterred by the response, the tenant inquires why her room is locked. The landlady responds by stating that she won’t unlock the room until the tenant pays the 1,500 naira for the electricity bill.
Despite the tenant’s explanation that she hasn’t even begun using electricity as her connection hasn’t been set up, the landlady insists on the payment, anticipating that the tenant might resist paying once the connection is active.
Despite the tenant’s appeals, the landlady stands firm, asserting her ownership of the house and her authority.
The landlady directs the tenant to find alternative sleeping arrangements outside or elsewhere until the 1,500 NEPA bill is settled.
