Lamine Yamal confident Barcelona star will clinch 2025 Ballon d’Or, offers support for injured Casado

Barcelona’s rising star Lamine Yamal is confident that one of the club’s players will win the 2025 Ballon d’Or if their strong season continues.
The 17-year-old has been instrumental in Barcelona’s campaign, alongside Raphinha, who has also emerged as a key figure.
Speaking to Sport, Yamal expressed his belief that a Barcelona player will claim football’s top individual honour.
“If we win the titles ahead of us, one of us will win it, whoever it is,” Yamal said. “I’m very happy for Raphinha.
“His change has been incredible, and he’s having a great time. The Ballon d’Or does not worry me.”
While Yamal has been a standout performer, teammate Marc Casado’s breakthrough season has been cut short after he suffered a knee injury in Barcelona’s 3-0 win over Atletico Madrid.
Yamal revealed he has been in touch with Casado, offering his support.
“I spoke to him yesterday and told him to recover soon. When he returns, I’ll visit him. We love him very much. He was having an incredible season.”
