La Liga: Tragic fan death forced abrupt stop to Granada vs Athletic Bilbao clash
The La Liga clash between Granada and Athletic Bilbao was abruptly stopped after a fan suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest in the stands.
The match took a somber turn, with Bilbao leading 1-0 courtesy of an early goal from Inaki Williams.
Just nine minutes later, Bilbao’s goalkeeper Unai Simon received information from home fans about a fellow supporter experiencing what appeared to be a cardiac arrest.
