La Liga: Real Madrid extend title lead with narrow win over Mallorca

Real Madrid tightened their grip on the La Liga title race with a hard-fought 1-0 win against Mallorca on Saturday evening.

The win extends their lead at the top of the league table to 11 points.

The match lacked clear-cut chances in the first half, with Real Madrid’s only shot on target striking the crossbar courtesy of Jude Bellingham’s effort from outside the box.

However, early in the second half, the deadlock was broken with Aurelien Tchouameni’s thunderous strike from 30 yards out, finding the back of the net.

Despite a slight deflection, Tchouameni’s strike proved to be the decisive moment of the game.

Although Real Madrid had opportunities to extend their lead, including a late chance for Federico Valverde, they held on to secure the narrow win on the road.
