Popular Nigerian dancer and mother of two, Korra Obidi, has experienced an overwhelming response to her GoFundMe appeal for financial assistance in her ongoing legal dispute with her ex-husband, Justin Dean, raising over $49k.
Just hours after launching a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for her legal fees, Korra Obidi has already surpassed the $49,000 mark, signaling strong support from her fans and followers.
The need for financial aid arose as Korra Obidi found herself embroiled in a legal battle with Justin Dean, her ex-husband, over custody and image rights of their children.
Justin Dean recently secured image rights protection from Meta, the parent company of Facebook, preventing Korra Obidi from featuring their children on the platform.
Consequently, all videos shared by Korra Obidi featuring her children were removed from Facebook, and her page was demonetized.
In response to this, Korra Obidi took to social media to express her distress over the exorbitant legal fees required to contest Dean’s actions in court.
She appealed for financial assistance through a GoFundMe campaign, setting a target of $100,000 to cover her legal expenses. The response to Korra Obidi’s plea has been nothing short of astounding.
Within just 24 hours of launching the fundraiser, donations flooded in, with the total amount raised quickly surpassing $49,000 and continuing to climb.
