JUST IN: Jail break, sporadic gun fire as hoodlums attack Ikoyi Prisons (Videos)
Ikoyi Correctional Centre is currently on fire, gunshots are being heard and there’s an alleged attempted jailbreak.
Videos shared online shows smoke billowing from parts of the centre while
inmates are seen running.
It was learnt that the prison authorities had immediately notified the police and the military authorities for backup.
Media personality, Toke Makinwa who lives in Ikoyi tweeted that she can hear gunshots from her bedroom and that people should be safe.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State, Mr. Muyiwa Adejobi, said the cause of the fire could not yet be ascertained but policemen had been deployed in the prisons.
