JUST IN: Chelsea on red alert as Cristiano Ronaldo asks Man United to let him leave
Recall that late in June, Chelsea new owner, Todd Boehly had met with Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes, to discuss several topics and the idea of the Portuguese joining the Blues.
Though there was no indication whether or not Thomas Tuchel’s side would be interested in the 37-year-old, the latest development has spawned high expectations and anticipations.
It is believed that Ronaldo’s decision to leave United is driven by the desire to play in the Champions League for the remainder of his career.
United will play in the Europa League next season for the 2022/23 campaign after finishing sixth in the Premier League last season.
