Josh Maja breaks record as fifth Nigerian to score twice on first debut in EPL
Fulham’s newly signed striker, Josh Maja has made a record after scoring two goals against Everton at Goodison Park thus becoming the fifth Super Eagles player to get a brace on his debut in the EPL.
The 22-year-old professional footballer who completed a short-term move to the Premier League side earlier this month gave Fulham a boost after Sunday’s match.
Maja joined the likes of Efan Ekoku in 1993, John Utaka in 2007, Osaze Odemwingie in 2010, and Alex Iwobi in 2016 to achieve the feat in the premier league.
Taking to Twitter to make the announcement, the Premier League via its verified page wrote;
“@joshmaja is the second Nigerian to score a brace on his first #PL start, after Efan Ekoku in May 1993 ?.”
